Leu Gardens has long been a classic date idea, full of charm and beauty. Come with us as we show you how to plan the perfect date at Leu Gardens.

By the way, this tranquil spot is one of the most beautiful places in Orlando, so you're in for a treat.

Leu Gardens features a diverse collection of plant species from around the world, including tropical and sub-tropical plants, palms, bamboo, camellias, azaleas, and many others. Explore various themed gardens within the larger garden.

It's okay to veer off the main path and see what you can find.

Multiple Gardens

Take your time when you first enter the gardens because you'll be immersed in the Tropical Stream Gardens. Even though it is at the very start, this lush setting is one of the best features of Leu Gardens.

Another key highlight of Leu Gardens is the Butterfly Garden. The garden provides an ideal habitat for butterflies and offers educational opportunities to learn about their life cycle and importance in ecosystems.

You'll find signs marking each garden area. And there are lots of grand oak trees and dense ferns throughout.

There is also a small vegetable garden – a great way to see some familiar veggies in their natural form. It is also a simple way to remember Florida's roots, once known for its agriculture rather than just tourism.

Of course, the rose garden near the center of this large, expansive park is a highlight for romance. These beautiful roses provided a charming setting for small weddings in Orlando and is a popular place to propose.

Another notable feature of Leu Gardens is the Leu House Museum, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Leu House is a late 19th-century home that was once the residence of Harry and Mary Jane Leu. It showcases the lifestyle and furnishings of the time, giving visitors a glimpse into the past.

Movie Night

Mention movie night happens each month, one of our favorite ways to enjoy outdoor movies in Orlando.

Can we bring food?

You can bring in your own food, beverages, and reusable water bottles. Picnicking in the gardens is welcome.  There are designated picnic areas around the garden – and it is one of our favorite picnic spots in Orlando.

Right down the street is East End Market, an iconic Orlando destination and perfect for picking up gourmet picnic provisions.

Special Events at Leu Gardens

Throughout the year, Leu Gardens hosts various events and activities for visitors of all ages. These include plant sales, gardening workshops, art exhibits, outdoor concerts, and holiday-themed events. One popular event is the annual “Christmas at Leu Gardens,” where the gardens are adorned with festive lights and decorations, creating a magical holiday atmosphere.

In 2023, Happy Frights and Haunting Nights debuted. This marvelous Halloween event is a highlight of the year. Put it on your calendar!

Plan Your Visit

Before you enter the gardens you will purchase tickets at the welcome center. Bring a refillable water bottle and fill it up here before you head out into the gardens.

There are restrooms in the gardens itself, however, they are small and not very easy to find. I suggest using the restroom at the welcome center before embarking on your exploration.
