Forget bedtime stories – Pointe Orlando is throwing a Pardi Gras bash that’ll rewrite the definition of “playtime for adults!” They’re talkin’ beads flyin’ faster than confetti on Bourbon Street, live music hotter than a Tabasco habanero, a DJ droppin’ beats to make your inner flamingo strut its stuff, and a photo booth that’ll capture the craziness.

The FREE festival will feature 140 art and fine craft artists with displays of glass, jewelry, mosaics, paintings, photography, pottery, sculpture and more all available for purchase. Uptown Art Expo will also highlight Chalk Street Artists creating mesmerizing chalk masterpieces with professional chalk artists and high school art students on the sidewalks of Cranes Roost Park as their canvas.

Experience an amazing outdoor sculpture exhibit of larger-than-life flying insects hand-crafted into 28 works of art with Dalle de Verre glass and steel. Created by national known sculptor, Alex Heveri, each piece captures the essence of flight.
Sunlight through the colored glass mimics the transparency and iridescence of insect wings, intensifying the illusion of movement and life. The exhibit weaves together the beauty of art with the science of nature. Included with general admission.

Orlando Shakes
Venus in Fur is a laugh-out-loud study of the politics of sex and power that’s guaranteed to charm and mesmerize. When Vanda arrives several hours late to her audition for a play based on a nineteenth-century erotic novel, the director is less than impressed. But Vanda’s masterful performance flips the script, and the audition turns into a tango for dominance between actress and director.

All participants must be 13 and over when painting with adult only.
