Fall is here! While it may not be sweater weather just yet, it will begin to cool off soon. What better way to celebrate the season than fun things to do that don't cost you a dime? We're sharing 30+ ideas for free activities to enjoy this fall.
Free Activities in Orlando This Fall
Outdoor Fun
Popcorn Flicks in the Park
Snuggle up with blankets and enjoy a free outdoor movie in the heart of Winter Park’s Central Park. Hosted by Enzian Theater, Popcorn Flicks in the Park happens on the second Thursday of each month and features classic, family-friendly films. Pack a picnic for a laid-back fall date night under the stars.
Thornton Park District Free Events
Fall is a lively time in the Thornton Park District with night markets on select Thursdays from 6–10pm. Browse goods from local artists and vendors, grab dinner from food trucks, and enjoy live music in an outdoor, dog-friendly setting. With cooler weather and plenty of space to mingle, these evenings are perfect for a casual date night.
Winter Park Farmers' Market
Find the Winter Park Farmers' Market setting up shop at Central Park's West Meadow on Saturdays from 8am-1pm. The market takes place along Park Avenue, which is a great place to walk around together after browsing the local goods.

Lake Apopka Wildlife Drive
Take advantage of crisp fall mornings to explore the 11-mile Lake Apopka Wildlife Drive. This one-way route winds through a thriving habitat where you can spot birds, alligators, and other Florida wildlife. Plan to go early, then stop for breakfast at a local favorite like Mary’s County Kitchen. With fall migration season in full swing, you’ll likely see an abundance of bird species.
Mead Botanical Garden
Located in Winter Park, Mead Botanical Garden shines in fall with scenic boardwalks, shaded trails, and a butterfly garden. It’s an ideal spot for a romantic picnic or an easy afternoon stroll. The gardens connect to the Orlando Urban Trail, so you can pair your visit with a bike ride into downtown Orlando before returning to the gardens for a relaxed lunch. Admission is always free.
Kraft Azalea Garden
Tucked along the shore of Lake Maitland, Kraft Azalea Garden is a serene public park filled with winding paths, benches, and towering cypress trees. It’s especially lovely in fall when the weather makes it easier to linger by the water. Bring a picnic, or simply stroll hand-in-hand as you enjoy the views. Admission is free year-round.
Harry P. Leu Gardens – First Monday Free Admission
Leu Gardens is a beautiful spot for fall, with themed gardens, a butterfly garden, a rose collection, and a historic home to explore. Normally $10 admission, the gardens are free on the first Monday of most months, giving you an affordable way to enjoy 50 acres of lush, seasonal blooms and shaded trails.
Free Museums
Access for All at OMA (Orlando Museum of Art)
Every third Thursday, the Orlando Museum of Art opens its doors for free admission as part of the nationwide Access for All initiative. Explore galleries, enjoy live performances, and participate in interactive activities without cost. It’s a perfect way to add some art and culture to your fall date nights.
Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art
Enjoy free admission to this museum on Park Avenue in Winter Park Friday evenings November-April from 4-8pm. The museum is home to the most comprehensive collection anywhere of Louis Comfort Tiffany Glass.
Seminole State Planetarium Events
Cooler, clearer fall nights set the stage for stargazing. The Seminole State Planetarium brings out telescopes for the public to enjoy during free “Telescope Thursdays” at local parks. They also host star parties, complete with telescope observations, planetarium dome shows, and speaker presentations. Whether you’re a science buff or just love a romantic evening under the stars, these events are a great fall pick.
Places to Stroll
Disney Springs
A Disney date night doesn’t have to mean theme park tickets. Disney Springs is a massive outdoor dining, shopping, and entertainment district with plenty to enjoy for free. Wander the winding paths, browse shops, listen to live music, and soak up the atmosphere without spending a dime. Parking is free, too, making this an easy fall afternoon or evening outing.
You can enjoy a frugal afternoon by taking advantage of Disney Springs Happy Hour deals.

Cranes Roost Park
Head to Altamonte Springs for a lakeside stroll at Cranes Roost Park. This one-mile boardwalk is especially romantic at sunset, and the park frequently hosts free events like outdoor festivals and movies. With crisp fall evenings on the way, it’s a perfect spot to enjoy the season.
Casselberry Art and Music in the Park
Held monthly at Lake Concord Park, Casselberry Art and Music in the Park is a community favorite featuring food trucks, artisan vendors, and live entertainment. Events take place on the second Friday of each month from 6–9pm, just in time for cooler fall nights. While you’re there, take advantage of the park’s outdoor art displays and sculptures, available to view year-round for free.

Visit Celebration
For a charming small-town feel, spend the day in Celebration. Stroll the waterfront walking paths or plan your visit around one of the town’s many free events, from monthly car shows to the Oktoberfest celebration. Later in the season, the town hosts its famous “snowfall” nights, adding a festive touch to holiday date nights.
Pack a Picnic
With lower humidity and breezy afternoons, fall is picnic season in Orlando. Local favorites include Central Park in Winter Park, Lake Lily Park, and Kissimmee Lakefront Park. Pack your favorite seasonal treats—think hot cider, pumpkin muffins, or a cozy charcuterie spread—and enjoy the cooler weather while it lasts.
BONUS IDEA: Take a stroll along Plant Street in Winter Garden. While there are plenty of places here to spend money, it is free to walk around – plus many storefronts are decorated for the fall.
