Craft Club Orlando
When Andrea Chenoweth first came up with the idea of Craft Club Orlando, she wanted a low-pressure, welcoming place for creatives to connect. A place where anyone, from seasoned artists to total beginners, could feel comfortable showing up and getting crafty.
Chenoweth likes to say, “We are a Craft Club, not an Art Club,” showing there are no expectations beyond having fun.
Since launching in December 2025, Craft Club Orlando has grown to more than 7,000 members and hosted more than 35 events, many of which reach capacity. The club hosts a mix of free and ticketed events, with free monthly meetups offering activities such as mini junk journals, fan decorating, and bracelet making.
“‘Crafting’ is such an inclusive term and activity,” said Chenoweth. “Sometimes, we picture crafting as a solo hobby you do at home, but we encourage people to get out of their comfort zone and craft together (essentially doing a solo activity alongside other solo crafters).”
Ticketed-event proceeds go back into funding the club, helping keep membership free and crafting accessible to everyone.
“We want to make crafting accessible to all, no matter what,” says Chenoweth.
More about Junk Journal Junkie
Emma De Leon, creator of Junk Journal Junkie, created the club based around the belief that creativity can bring people together. What started with paper, stickers, and pretty details became something more meaningful: a way to slow down, connect, and create memories.
“You don’t have to be a ‘crafty person’ to enjoy it,” De Leon says. Her gatherings are designed for couples, friends, sisters, parents and children, or anyone looking for a different kind of night out. “Instead of going out for another dinner or sitting across from each other scrolling on your phones, you get to sit together, laugh, talk, create, and make something meaningful side by side,” said De Leon.
De Leon also hosts events throughout Central Florida, using each gathering as an opportunity to introduce her community to local businesses and creative spaces. By bringing new customers through the doors of small businesses, she hopes to support the people and places that make Orlando unique.
“When we host an event at a local business, we’re not just showing up for our craft night. We’re supporting someone’s dream,” said De Leon. “We’re bringing new faces through their doors, introducing our community to their business, and helping keep small businesses thriving.”
