Orlando's dining scene continuously offers new and exciting dishes to try. Between the local gems and impressive resort dining around town, there's rarely a dull dining moment.
Sophia’s Trattoria at Conrad Orlando has unveiled its newest winter menu. After bringing my husband and son for a hosted dinner, I can confidently say: you’ll want to try it before the season ends. Nestled along Evermore Bay, Sophia’s blends Conrad Orlando’s elegance with a breezy, coastal Italian spirit, making it exactly the kind of place that turns an ordinary dinner date into something special.
Sophia's Trattoria: An Introduction
Sophia’s is known for changing its menu seasonally, leaning into fresh ingredients and Southern Italian sensibilities with a modern touch. It's one of our favorite Italian restaurants in Orlando.

This winter’s lineup feels particularly thoughtful: cozy without being heavy, refined without being fussy, and full of small surprises that remind you you’re dining somewhere that treats Italian cooking as both tradition and craft.
Located on the ground level of Conrad Orlando, the arrival is part of the experience. I love the lobby of Conrad Orlando, which is actually the third floor so that as you arrive, your eyes are treated to a view of Evermore Bay. And with valet parking included with dinner, it makes for an easy and relaxing arrival.
Descending down the stairs to head to Sophia's Trattoria adds to the romance of the evening.

What We Tried From the Winter Menu
We began with two dishes that instantly set the tone. The Crispy Lamb Ribs arrived glistening, fragrant with orange, and nicely balanced by bitter chicory. They’re the kind of appetizer you unabashedly dig into, with polite dabs of the cloth napkin to help maintain your composure. The deep, warming flavors had just enough brightness.
The Rotolo di Zucca, a rolled squash and ricotta pasta in brown butter, was the softer counterpart. Silky, aromatic, and indulgent, it’s exactly the kind of winter pasta I want to come back for. I could have easily ordered two servings to convert it from a starter to an entree; I fell in love with it!

For entrées, we tried the Wagyu Beef Cheeks with celeriac purée and the Rohan Duck with lentils and cotechino. The beef cheeks were impossibly tender, enriched by slow cooking and lifted by the subtly sweet celeriac underneath.
The duck was another standout: rosy, expertly cooked, and paired with earthy lentils that added a rustic edge while still feeling elegant. The addition of cotechino (Italian pork sausage) gave the plate a traditional Italian depth that made the dish especially memorable.
Both of these entrees are items my husband and I had experienced anywhere else. We both enjoy the occasional duck dish, but thanks to Sophia's, we learned that Rohan Duck has a milder flavor and is a tad leaner than the more well-known Peking Duck. Such an experience added a sense of connection as we learned something new on our date night.

Dessert was an easy choice: the Apple Tatin was light, simple, and seasonal. The meal paired beautifully with my non-alcoholic Blood Orange Spritz.
A Beautiful Spot for Date Night, Girls’ Night, or a Family Treat
Sophia’s Trattoria offers exactly the kind of versatility Orlando diners love. It’s refined enough for a romantic date night, yet relaxed and welcoming enough for a family dinner. On weekends, the candlelit glow and waterside seating also make it an excellent option for a girls’ night out—especially if your group loves trying seasonal menus, fresh pasta, or standout cocktails and NA beverages.
The setting elevates everything: an open kitchen with a warm buzz, floor-to-ceiling windows, and the shimmering view of Evermore Bay. Whether you sit indoors or along the water, the space feels polished but never stuffy, making it one of Conrad Orlando’s most inviting dining experiences.
