Our contributor Jodi Caballero recently visited and shared some important tips with us. This beautiful new venue is sure to be a hit with the date night crowd, and has made it to our list of hidden places for a drink. Here's what to know before you visit Roka Hula, a new hidden tiki bar in Orlando.

Roka Hula Tiki Bar in Orlando

The ambiance inside Roka Hula is upscale tiki. While many tiki fans appreciate a laidback vibe, Roka Hula is elevated and a bit posh. The creators and owners are from the Fort Lauderdale and Delray Beach area, so you may pick up on the South Florida vibes.

Entering Roka Hula requires you to enter VooDoo Bayou and check in at the podium / host stand. If you see two elaborate chairs flanking the sides of a stuffed leopard you're in the right place.

Once you are whisked inside of Roka Hula you are sure to notice the intense decor. Colorful lighting and tropical decor covers every square inch of the dining room and lounge area.

Roka Hula Menu

The main highlights of the menu are the elaborate drinks and the refined sushi rolls and sashimi. Plus, Asian inspired sharables and entrees mean you'll have ample delicious sustenance to go with your beverages.

If you're celebrating a special occasion consider the Tea-Ki Time tea party available for two people or four. This tropical tea libation is served in a gorgeous tea set and will be an unforgettable moment.

The beverage menu is extensive with drinks costing $15 – $22, and two mocktails are available too. Each beverage is its own presentation, and many are served in specialty tiki mugs.

Sushi and sashimi are the main stars of the food menu with creative rolls like Smoky Spicy Tuna Roll ($26 – served under a smoked dome) and The Buffalo Beef on Weck Roll ($22) perfect for fans of beef carpaccio.

Your bill at the end of the meal is going to be up there. This is not going to be a local hangout spot, but definitely a date night spot to impress.
