Ahoy date-night seekers! A squawk-worthy addition is coming to Magic Kingdom Park and is perfect for upcoming date nights inside the park. Destination D23, an annual gathering of Disney fans known for dropping major announcements about the future of Disney parks, delivered more details about the new Pirates themed lounge. Now, we have an opening date, August 29, to be exact, and we have a sneak ‘Beak' at some exclusive merchandise.
Adventureland will soon welcome The Beak and Barrel, a brand-new Pirates of the Caribbean-themed tavern, perfect for Disney adults who appreciate a great backstory and an even better drink. Like the adult lounges aboard the Disney Treasure, this new lounge inside the Magic Kingdom is full of theme and details.

New Pirates Tavern at Magic Kingdom
A first-of-its-kind Pirates of the Caribbean themed lounge is coming to Magic Kingdom! At the D23 Expo it was hinted that the beloved barker bird that used to reside at the ride's entrance will be part of the experience. “It's something I'm really personally excited about,” Beatty, a creative portfolio executive at Walt Disney Imagineering, said during the conference. “At Disney, we're always looking at ways to extend our stories and grow those stories within our parks. We've started working on something really exciting over in Adventureland—that extends the story of Pirates of the Caribbean.”
“We are developing a brand new tavern that some of the regulars might call a watering hole, where pirates of all ages gather to tell their tales,” he added. “I hear there's a certain macaw that we haven't seen in a while … he's taken up residence here in a new spot and you know he loves to come in and spin a yarn or two with guests.”

The newest concept art shows beer and wine. This new lounge at the Magic Kingdom will certainly be family-friendly, and the new details include a large anchor overhead, and a rustic, nautical tavern setting.
What's Inside Beak & Barrel Pirates Bar?
- The Mess
- The Captains' Quarters
The tavern’s main hall, affectionately called “The Mess,” evokes the gritty charm of a pirate hideaway, complete with long communal tables, flickering candlelight, and a massive ship anchor overhead. At the bar, guests will find a skull-shaped stern salvaged from a cursed shipwreck and a glowing bottle said to be enchanted by Tia Dalma herself.
Another hidden gem? The Captains’ Quarters, where remnants of finer living, like ship-in-a-bottle battles, add a mysterious touch. While this new lounge will be family-friendly, it’s being designed with immersive storytelling and atmosphere in mind, making it a must-do for adult Disney fans seeking a unique sip and escape.
