For the first time ever, holiday decorations have expanded beyond Main Street, U.S.A. to include Fantasyland, Frontierland, and more of Liberty Square. It's quite the addition to the holidays at Walt Disney World. The results are stunning, and if you know where to look, you can impress your date with some insider Disney holiday knowledge.

Photos at Magic Kingdom's New Christmas Decorations
1. Frontierland at Sunset
The rustic charm of Frontierland feels even more romantic this year. Wooden balconies and shopfronts are wrapped in glowing garlands, plaid ribbons, and golden lights. Just before sunset, the warm colors of the sky mix with the twinkle of the decorations, creating the perfect golden-hour backdrop.
Find a quiet moment near the Frontier Trading Post or The Diamond Horseshoe. Or if you're more of an energetic couple, then dance on over to Country Bear Musical Jamboree and snap a photo together while the lights begin to flicker on around 5 p.m.
2. The New Decorations in Liberty Square
Liberty Square has been home to some festive lamppost decorations for decades. Aside from a few dashes of decor in Tomorrowland, only Liberty Square and Main Street U.S.A. housed Magic Kingdom's Christmas decorations.
Now, more magic in Liberty Square adds to the holiday fun with wreaths, bows, and greenery adorning nearly every building. The decorations complement the colonial style beautifully, giving this area a timeless, vintage holiday look.
It’s one of the most peaceful parts of the park as the sun goes down. Stop on the bridge overlooking the water, or pose under the lampposts near the Liberty Tree Tavern for an elegant photo.
3. Fantasyland’s Dwarf-Sized Christmas Tree
There are multiple whimsical new details tucked near Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. And while you can't miss all the new decorations, the cute details might be easy to miss unless you know where to look. A small Christmas tree decorated with glittering gemstones, mining tools, and bright ribbons celebrates the Seven Dwarfs most charmingly, in a dwarven-sized package! Plus, the entrance to the ride and the queue have beautiful garland complete with sparkling jewels and rustic wooden snowflakes.
It’s one of the best examples of how the Imagineers have added character-inspired holiday touches across Fantasyland. Take a playful photo in front of the tree or capture a close-up of the colorful ornaments.
And right next door at The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh show your honey the honey-bee-inspired new decorations. There's garland and a few presents for Winnie the Pooh and friends in the queue!
4. Gaston’s Tavern and the Village Square
The area around Gaston’s Tavern has always had an old-world beauty, and now it feels like a little French village at Christmas. The garlands are dotted with antlers, red bows, and pewter mugs that perfectly match the tavern’s rustic charm.
It’s especially romantic just before sunset when the lights glow against the wood and stone buildings. Grab a LeFou’s Brew to share and enjoy the view—it’s one of the most unexpectedly cozy corners of the park.
And if you really want to enhance your date, book a meal at one of Orlando's most romantic restaurants: Be Our Guest, which also gets a few sprinkles of Christmas decor.
5. Ariel’s Hidden Holiday Mural
This might be the most surprising holiday touch in all of Magic Kingdom, especially for anyone who grew up wanting to be Ariel (me, it's me). Near Under the Sea – Journey of the Little Mermaid, look for a colorful new mural featuring Flounder, Sebastian, and a Christmas tree made of sea stars and shells. It's on the way to Storybook Circus.
It’s a cheerful, slightly hidden photo spot that most guests walk right past. For couples who love finding those “only-if-you-know” Disney details, this is the perfect way to impress your date with your insider knowledge.
And also swing into Storybook Circus for the most adorable tinsel-drenched decorations featuring Dumbo and Timothy the Mouse, new for 2025!
Make the Most of the Magic
Plan to arrive a little before 5 p.m. so you can watch the lights come on across the park and capture that dreamy transition from day to night. Pair your visit with viewing the new Disney Starlight nighttime parade (on select nights) to end your date on a romantic note.
