It's an exciting time in Orlando as the City Beautiful gears up for the 35th season of the Orlando Magic. This special season kicked off during Breast Cancer Awareness month, giving us a special moment to reflect on the importance of health and wellness in our lives. By nurturing our health, we give ourselves the ability to be at our best, which means our relationships can be at their best too. And we sat down with some members of the AdventHealth team to understand the importance of making health a priority in our relationships.

35 Years of Orlando Magic with AdventHealth

A Season of Celebration:

This year, the Orlando Magic has a lineup of games and events that are sure to keep fans on their toes. Attending an Orlando Magic game together is a classic Orlando date idea. And this is especially true during this special 35th anniversary season.

Let's take a closer look at what's in store for the month of October:

  • Pink in the Paint (October 17th):
    “Pink in the Paint” deserves special attention, as it's more than just a game. It's an opportunity to spread the message of breast cancer awareness. This year’s game has already taken place so mark it on your calendar for next year.
    My husband and I, as well as our friends, attended the 2023 “Pink in the Paint” game. We witnessed inspiring stories and celebrated the strides that have been made in Breast Cancer Research and awareness. Witnessing the athleticism of the game alongside the important messages from AdventHealth made me grateful to be there.

  • Brazilian B-Ball Team on Friday Night (October 20th):
    Basketball is a global sport, and the Magic are embracing this diversity with open arms. On October 20th, the Magic hosted a Brazilian basketball team, Flamengo, making it a Friday night filled with international flair. It's a reminder that the love for basketball transcends borders.
  • First Regular Season Home Game, Opening Night presented by AdventHealth (October 25th):
    On October 25th, the Magic will have their first regular season home game, Opening Night presented by AdventHealth. It's a night that's bound to be electric with excitement. To make it even more special, there will be a T-shirt giveaway for fans. It's the perfect way to start the season with a bang!

Pink in the Paint – October 17, 2023 Orlando Magic game

“Pink in the Paint” deserves special attention, as it's more than just a game. It's an opportunity for AdventHealth to spread the message of breast cancer awareness. Make sure to show your support by wearing pink, and don't forget to check out the various activities and messages about early screening.

Tips for Date Night at an Orlando Magic Game

Heading to an Orlando Magic game together is one of the many perks of being in Orlando. It's such a fun and energetic date idea. While enjoying the game, take advantage of the various wellness touchpoints within the Amway Center, supported by AdventHeatlh:

  • PROFormance Lab (Behind Section 117): Discover the secrets of professional performance.
  • First Aid Stations (Two Locations): Your health and safety are a top priority.
  • Mama Pods (Breastfeeding Pod): A thoughtful amenity for nursing mothers.

Also, there is a Sensory Room, a quiet and comfortable space for those with special needs.

PROFormance Lab (Behind Section 117)

This is a must-visit for everyone! The PROFormance Lab presented by AdventHealth has multiple interactive components. We had fun testing our agility and comparing how high each of us could jump.

First Aid Stations (Two Locations)

Should you have any basic health needs during your date night at the Amway Center there are two First Aid locations provided by AdventHealth. 

On the Terrace Level, you’ll find First Aid near Section 118. And on the Promenade Level it is near Section 230.

Mama Pods (Breastfeeding Pod)

Keeping to a breastfeeding schedule is so important and thankfully it is easy at the Amway Center. There is a Mamavana brand breastfeeding pod presented by AdventHealth for Women. It is located near Sections 117 and 118, close to the Pro-Formance Lab.

Pro-tip: Dress comfortably and bring along a light layer just in case. It can get a little chilly inside the Amway Center.

Sensory Room (Guest Services Terrace Level)

Attending a game at the Amway Center is an exciting experience. With so many lights, sights, and sounds there is a lot of stimulation. If anyone in your party has special needs and would benefit from a calming place to visit there is a Sensory Room sponsored by AdventHealth.

Inside you’ll find calm lighting, soft sounds, and multiple sensory tools. There are a few soft chairs, and a live view of the game is there too. All designed with sensory needs in mind.

Just head to Guest Services on the Terrace Level and ask to utilize the Sensory Room.
