HeartsAnyone who tells you that you have to break the bank to win your honey’s heart on Valentine’s Day has no idea what they’re talking about. Here’s the truth about romance: creativity and thoughtfulness score way more points than bling… at least in my book.

With that in mind, here are a handful of V-Day options that you can experience for $30 or less:

Valentine’s Movie Night at Leu Gardens
Harry P. Leu Gardens
Gardens open at 6 pm, movie starts at 7:30 pm
Admission is $5.00 plus tax
On this starry night, the gigantic screen in this 50-acre botanical oasis will be showing The Vow (Rachel McAdams, Channing Tatum).
Pssst… get there early; this event will fill up quickly.

Popcorn Flicks in the Park
Central Park, Winter Park
7 pm
Snuggle up on a blanket and enjoy a FREE screening of From Here To Eternity, an Academy Award-winning classic and one of the most romantic movies of all time.
Pssst… city officials don’t encourage wine in the park but they don’t make a fuss about it either. Feel free to pop some bubbly.

Thornton 2nd Thursday Wine & Art Walk
Thornton Park Neighborhood
Washington Street and Summerlin Avenue, Orlando
6:30 pm to 10 pm
Just $10 gets you a wine glass and a map of all the locations where you will be greeted with a complimentary pour of wine.
This event, which takes place on the second Thursday of every month, will feature a special Valentine’s themed wine and art crawl.
Glass pick-up is at Wildside Bar & Grill (700 E. Washington Street).

Fools for Love
SAK Comedy Lab
7:30 and 9:30 pm
On this annual Valentine's Day Love Fest couples get 2 tickets to the love-themed improv show as well as 2 drinks and 2 bags of popcorn.
Call 407-648-0001 to reserve tickets.

Heavenly Love

Seminole State College of Florida Planetarium

100 Weldon Blvd., Sanford
8 pm (also Feb 15th and 16th at 8:30 pm)
$6 per person
This stargazing presentation will focus on mythological love as told through the constellations. Nearby Historic Sanford is packed with great restaurants and bars, including the new The Imperial at Washburn Imports-Sanford, if you want to head there afterward for dinner or a nightcap.

The 5th Annual Human Heart: An OUTright Love-in Public
Loch Haven Park
Hundreds of "hearticipants" will come together on Valentine's day to build a huge human heart [a heArt installation] for human rights, LGBTQ justice, and equality. As the sun sets, hundreds of candles will be lit forming a fabulous, flaming, huge heart in the park. Everyone, gay or straight, is encouraged to take part in this lovely moment to celebrate love and the momentous progress toward equality. It's all over by 7pm, so as not to interfere with other romantic plans, but many participants will be heading to The Venue afterward for drinks and food.

Marc Broussard Concert
Full Sail University
8 pm
The Hall of Fame week concert schedule will kick-off with a special Valentine’s Day public concert by singer/songwriter and Vanguard Records artist, Marc Broussard. The concert will be held in the university’s on-campus state-of-the-art performance venue, Full Sail Live, with admission provided on a first-come, first-served basis.
