DAT_TheaterScreenTired of the same old dinner and a movie date? Well, if your idea of a great date night is escaping into the fantasy of the big screen, then I have just the date for you. Orlando’s most cutting-edge cinematic experience is the new Digital Adventure Theatre at the Orlando Science Center.

The recently revamped 226-seat theater is one of only a handful of theaters in the Orlando area that features a 4K resolution projection system – capable of producing an image nearly four times the quality of standard high definition.

In conjunction with the blockbuster exhibit currently on display at the Science Center, Star Wars®: Where Science Meets Imagination, the Digital Adventure Theatre is showing Star Wars® Episode I The Phantom Menace 3D. Now, it may not be the best installment of the series, but the crystal clear image and breathtaking 3D technology brings you and your date even deeper into the drama and whimsicality which makes up for the cheesy dialogue and dreadful acting.

If your date’s not fanatical about sci-fi, you can instead see Space Junk 3D, which explores the issue of cast-off space debris threatening our planet's orbit, and Tornado Alley 3D, an epic chase through the severe weather capital of the world. And, just in time for the holidays, you can take your date for a jaunt on The Polar Express 3D, the computer-animated fantasy film based on the children’s book of the same name by Chris Van Allsburg.

You can even make your movie going experience complete with popcorn, candy, and soft drinks from the Digital Adventure Theater concession stand. But, don’t fill up on junk food-the Science Center is just a hop, skip, and a jump from the great variety of unique restaurants that make up Mills 50 district and Ivanhoe Village.

Make a day out of it by catching a few educational films and one Hollywood release by purchasing general admission to the Science Center. Tickets, which also include access to Star Wars®: Where Science Meets Imagination as well as all exhibits, live science demonstrations, and giant screen films in the Dr. Phillips CineDome are $27 for adults and $20 for youth (ages 3-11). Just looking to catch a flick? Movies in the Digital Adventure Theater and access to Star Wars®: Where Science Meets Imagination are also included with evening admission, which is $23 for adults and $16 for youth (ages 3-11).

Why would you ever go to a regular movie theatre again when you can experience the breathtaking cinematic experience of the Digital Adventure Theatre at the Orlando Science Center?
