OMG it’s hot! The stinky, sweaty heat is just getting started as summer kicks off in O-Town. Never fear… I have some relief from this humid hell. Here are four date night ideas to keep you cool:

Ice Skating at RDV Ice Den Rdv ice skateYou might actually need to break out a sweater when you head to RDV for an ice skating date in their Ice Den. Groove to the DJ on Friday and Saturday night from 7-9:45pm or choose from a number of other public skate times. Admission for regular skate sessions is $6.71 plus tax and skate rental fees are $3.29 plus tax. Don’t forget to pack socks and a few extra bucks for hot chocolate. There’s also another skating venue in Kissimmee called The Ice Factory.

Frozen Cocktails at Chillers
This Church Street bar boasts 11 different frozen concoctions, including Mudslide, Long Island, and Margarita, perfect for weathering the heat on a hot Orlando night. Make it an early evening visit if you’re not thrilled about braving the rowdy 20-something crowd on Friday and Saturday nights. Chillers is open Monday-Friday from 11am – 2am and Saturday/Sunday from 4pm – 2am.

ICEBAR
Okay, I’ll admit that ICEBAR, a frozen I-Drive nightclub, is a little hokey. But on a 90-degree day, the frozen lounge, made from 50 tons of solid ice, is pretty heavenly. The furniture is draped with fur throws and thermal capes are provided to keep you cozy while you’re sipping vodka cocktails in the 27-degree temperatures. There are six ICEBAR entry times per evening: 7:15, 8:00, 8:45, 9:30, 10:15, 11:00, and the entry fee is $19.95 per person.
