BarjmeAdventurous foodies looking to take their next night out to a whole new epicurean level ought to check out BarJme, the innovative chef’s table experience in Winter Park.

The brainchild of Jamie McFadden, BarJme happens inside the celebrated chef’s Cuisiners Catering headquarters, where 10-12 diners settle into raised bar stools at an L-shaped table overlooking the kitchen. From this venerable vantage point, guests watch as McFadden and his team whip up a seven to ten-course tasting menu unveiled newly at each intimate event.

Expect some pretty ‘out there’ concoctions’ as the chefs reveal their take on typical American mainstays. Think foie gras French toast with rosemary-infused maple syrup or fried green tomatoes with goat feta and fig balsamic as their slant on the typical Caprese salad.

Besides the daring yet delightful fare, the night is made memorable because of the causal banter that ensues between the chefs and their guests. Chefs not only welcome questions and comments, they encourage them by wandering up and down the bar eliciting feedback after each course.

Events are scheduled only three to four times each month and they almost always fill up weeks in advance. Advanced reservations for these highly sought-after seats are required as is the $95 per person fee that includes all courses; tax and tip is extra. The schedule of events is posted at the beginning of every month at Cuisinierscater.com as well as BarJme’s Facebook page. You can bring your own wine without a corkage fee or purchase wine or beer onsite.
