Rumor has it that Santa Claus likes to mix up his mode of transportation! Maybe that’s why so many holiday boat parades take place throughout Central Florida.

As December rolls around, Orlando-area lakes, rivers and coastal waterways light up with everything from decked-out pontoons to downright dazzling yachts. We’ve rounded up the best holiday boat parades throughout Central Florida so you can see Santa swap out his sleigh for alternative joy rides on Florida’s waterways.

Dive Into Central Florida’s 2026 Holiday Boat Parades

Christmas on the Water in Leesburg

• Date: Sunday, December 6, 2026, 5-8 pm
• Location: Ski Beach Park, 201 Lake Harris Dr., Leesburg, FL 34748

Light Up Venetian Gardens is a festive evening with holiday music, live entertainment, food trucks, hayrides (aka sleigh rides) and, yup, a holiday boat parade.  

Christmas on the Water takes place on Lake Harris, a massive 13,788-acre freshwater lake in Lake County. Attending Light Up Venetian Gardens and Christmas on the Water is a great way to wrap up a day trip to Leesburg.

Mount Dora Lighted Christmas Boat Parade

• Date: Saturday, December 5, 2026 at 6 pm
• Location: Lake Dora

Held on Lake Dora, the 36^th Annual Mount Dora Lighted Boat Christmas Parade is set for the first Saturday of December. View the route from the Mount Dora shoreline, including the area around Grantham Point Lighthouse and Elizabeth Evans Park.

This year’s theme is “Florida Christmas,” which feels particularly appropriate for a parade where palm trees, boats and holiday lights replace snow-covered scenery. Expect to see Santa in a tropical shirt instead of a big red suit!

If you’re feeling particularly festive, you can even watch the parade from the water aboard a Rusty Anchor pontoon tour. This 2026 Christmas Boat Parade Tour departs at 5 pm, lasts 2.5 hours and costs $25 for adults.

Lillie After Dark: Light Up the Lake

Climb aboard the beautifully decorated Lillie for Lillie After Dark: Light Up the Lake, a festive Christmas cruise around East Lake Toho that’s basically a floating date night with seasonal sparkle. On Dec. 5, 12 and 19, couples can cozy up while a holiday parade of decked-out boats lights up the lake.

Tickets ($99) include a welcome drink, a holiday grazing table piled with meats, cheeses, fruit, pastries and sweet bites, plus Christmas-themed appetizers and plenty of festive photo ops. There’s even some friendly holiday competition: passengers get to play judge and pick the top three most fabulously decorated boats.

Johns Lake Holiday Boat Parade

• Date: Sunday, December 6, 2026 at 6 pm
• Location: Johns Lake, Clermont/Winter Garden

The Johns Lake Holiday Boat Parade winds around the northern, eastern and southern shores of Johns Lake, traveling from the Lake County side toward Orange County. The parade typically coasts for about two fun-filled hours, giving spectators plenty of time to catch the illuminated fleet from various points around the lake. One public viewing option is the boat ramp at 13620 Lake Blvd. in Winter Garden.

Cocoa Village Holiday Boat Parade

• Date: Friday, December 11, 2026 at 6 pm
• Location: Cocoa Riverfront Park

Cocoa Village hosts several events during its “Hot Cocoa Holidays,” such as a hot cocoa crawl, bike parade and, of course, a boat parade.  The 2026 parade is scheduled for Friday, December 11th at 6 pm at Cocoa Riverfront Park. The event bills itself as the Space Coast’s largest charitable holiday boat parade, with proceeds previously benefiting the Sharing Center of Central Brevard.

The parade route begins near Barton Avenue in Rockledge, heads north along the Intracoastal Waterway and loops into the Cocoa Basin for a prime viewing opportunity from Cocoa Riverfront Park. Additional viewing spots are also available along Rockledge Drive and Indian River Drive.

Southeast Volusia Holiday Boat Parade

• Date: Saturday, December 12, 2026 at 6-9 pm
• Location: Riverside Park, 221 N Causeway, New Smyrna Beach, FL 32168

Less than an hour’s drive from Downtown Orlando, head to New Smyrna Beach to catch the SEV Holiday Boat Parade. This event is yet another excellent excuse for a wonderful winter couples’ getaway because you can combine the boat parade with a stroll along Flagler Avenue, holiday shopping, cocktails and/or a seafood dinner.

Cocoa Beach Christmas Boat Parade

• Date: Saturday, December 12, 2026 at 6 pm
• Location: Banana River/Cocoa Beach

In between bites of sweet Christmas cookies, breathe in the salty air in Cocoa Beach. The Annual Cocoa Beach Christmas Boat Parade, hosted by the Rotary Club of Cocoa Beach, is set for Saturday, December 12^th, with the festivities getting underway at 6 pm.

For spectators, this is a great excuse to turn a parade into a coastal date night. Grab dinner in Cocoa Beach, stroll the shoreline and then find a cozy spot for the main event. The Cocoa Beach Christmas Boat Parade starts at Marker 101, which is near Centennial Park on State Road 520 (across from Cape Canaveral Hospital). Recommended viewing spots include:

Winter Park Holiday Boat Parade

• Location: Dinky Dock Park

The ever-popular Winter Park Holiday Boat Parade will return to Dinky Dock on Saturday, December 12, 2026. The City of Winter Park handles boat registration (though 2026 forms have yet to be posted).

Parking at Dinky Dock can be tricky, so couples should plan accordingly. And, of course, we recommend making a night of it. Grab dinner in Winter Park, walk around Park Avenue and then head toward the lake for the holiday spectacle.

Daytona Beach Christmas Boat Parade

• Date: Saturday, December 19, 2026 at 6 pm
• Location: Halifax River

For a waterfront date night with a little more coastal-city energy, head east to Daytona Beach. The Halifax River Yacht Club hosts the annual Daytona Beach Christmas Boat Parade and features a procession of joyfully decorated boats traveling south along the Halifax River.

The traditional route begins near the Seabreeze Bridge and heads toward Halifax Harbor Marina. Popular viewing areas include riverfront locations such as City Island, Manatee Island and Halifax Harbor Marina, as well as waterfront restaurants. So, this is a good holiday boat parade to pair with dinner and drinks before finding a spot along the river.

BONUS: The Winter Park Old Fashioned Christmas Cruise

Lake Conway Boat Parade

The Conway Chain of Lakes comes alive with boats decked out in twinkling lights, Christmas decorations and plenty of holiday spirit as they cruise past waterfront homes. In fact, the celebration traditionally includes three separate parades across South, Middle and North (Little) Lake Conway, giving couples plenty of opportunities to grab some hot cocoa, cozy up along the shoreline and watch the boats sparkle across the water.

DeLand Christmas Boat Parade

Trade the tinsel for twinkling boat lights at the DeLand Christmas Boat Parade, a beloved West Volusia holiday tradition dating back to the 1920s. Each year, festively decorated commercial and private boats cruise the scenic St. Johns River, bringing plenty of Christmas cheer to spectators along the shoreline.

The parade typically kicks off just north of Ed Stone Park, heads south toward Lake Beresford and circles the lake before wrapping up at the Lake Beresford Yacht Club.

Light Up the Lake Boat Parade

Sanford Lighted Boat Parade

While details have yet to be announced, the Sanford Lighted Boat Parade typically brings decorated vessels onto Lake Monroe, with waterfront viewing opportunities around Sanford.

Orlando couples can easily make this event part of an epic date night, since Sanford offers plenty of options. Start with dinner downtown, take a stroll along the RiverWalk and then find a romantic spot to watch the boats cruise by.

Tomoka River Christmas Boat Party

The Tomoka River Christmas Boat Parade hasn’t been held for several years, but Tomoka River Marina Bait Shop & Tiki Bar hosts a Christmas Boat Party. At this event, visitors can view decorated boats in the marina, although the vessels will not depart from the docks. Still, it’s festive, fun and date-night worthy

Tips for a Holiday Boat Parade Date Night

You don’t need to captain your own vessel to enjoy a holiday boat parade! Some of the best viewing experiences happen from shore, waterfront parks, restaurants and downtown districts. Here are some things to keep in mind:

• Arrive early. Popular waterfront viewing areas can fill up quickly, especially for the popular holiday boat parade events.
• Make dinner reservations. A waterfront restaurant can turn boat-watching into a full-blown holiday date night. So fun!
• Bring layers. Yes, it’s Florida. No, that doesn’t mean you’re guaranteed warm temperatures after dark, especially in December. Water can make an evening feel much cooler, but of course, date-night snuggles help.
• Pack the essentials. A blanket, folding chairs, snacks and a flashlight can make a public viewing spot much more comfortable.
• Check the route before you go. Boat parades can mean temporary traffic changes, bridge restrictions and crowded parking areas. Plan accordingly.
• Don’t assume every event works the same way. Some parades are easy to watch from shore, while others have very specific viewing areas. Check the official event information before heading out.
